WILL WE EVER BE HAPPY WITH THE WAY WE LOOK?

As research for my FMP i decided to survey people and get them to judge their own appearance. I created a Confession slip which asked people to write one thing they dislike about their appearance and another which they liked about themselves. I have asked about 50 people up to now but already looking through them it is fascinating to see what people have wrote especially the girls as most of them have wrote about how they dislike their weight and after asking them to write one thing they dislike many have wrote a whole list of things their are unhappy with.

"JUST PUT IT OFF ONE MORE DAY"

ANOREXIA - FINAL MAJOR PROJECT
For my final major project I plan on researching 'anorexia' and how it changes peoples lives. Ive never really though about anorexia and why people are so anorexic but recently after watching a friend of mine suffer from it I have had so many questions running through my mind that are unanswered and the main one I'm still trying to figure out is 'why are there so many people suffering from anorexia?' I know that i will never quite find the answer because surely there's not an answer that can explain anorexia... otherwise we'd have a cure? However I am hoping to get just that little bit closer to understanding why.
For this project I have decided to go completely out of my comfort zone and produce a piece of work that will provide you with facts and figures about anorexia and sends a clear message to my audience. As soon as you look at it you instantly know what message I'm trying to show. I'm not too sure how i am planning on doing that but I have a few idea's in mind.
I had an idea that if i turned my project title into a question then at the end of my FMP, after I gained knowledge on my subject, I could try and answer that question.

I already have an idea to create two mood boards one for my research and one for my developmental work. I will start to add research and pictures on the 14th of March and finish just before I start my final piece. The two mood boards will just be samples as they will contain a lot of secondary research from magazines, newspapers and the Internet.

This project is going to be dark and disturbing so I dont intend on cutting out the horrific bits. I will be looking into the exact statistics on who anorexia affects and why it affects them. I think the media has a massive influence on people so i shall be researching into how celebs affect people so much now a day. I will also be researching into different type of foods, looking at the calories and saturated fat and I'll research research into why anorexic people sometimes feel 'disguisted' by themselves so they starve themselves of the nutrients and vitamins they need. I plan on getting my primary research by taking pictures of close friends with thin frames that can pose in different positions. But with doing this i will have to produce a consent form, which we can both sign so they know that the pictures will be edited in photoshop and Illustrator and then put in my sketchbook. I will draw from these pictures using different types of materials such as: charcoal; oil pastels; paint;pens and lead pencils.

I'll have 6 weeks to do my research but in that time most of the work will have to be created outside of college hours due to a trip to Amstedamn, Easter holidays and Assessment week.

It is important for me to evaluate my work throughout the project so later I can look back and figure out how much time i spent on each section and what I was thinking and feeling at the time. To make sure I am keeping on track, my work will be assessed each week by other learners and tutors and I will ask them if there are any area's that need improvement. I am hoping to evaluate throughout the project in order to avoid having to put together a complete evaluation from scratch at the end.

FROM MY EYES, EMPTY DREAMS BLEED YOU DRY.

I absolutely adore this Artist! I had never heard of him since last year when my tutor Hazel showed us his work but since then he has become one of my favourite Artists.
His name is Raphaƫl but has a persona called 'My Dead Pony'. His work is so inspiring because every little piece he does may look the same at first but they are completely different and they just show off his true skills.
If i could i would get every piece he's done and just take over my blog with them but i think I'll stick to a few of my favourites.

J'ADORE

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person." - Audrey Hepburn
So.. We have been set a new project which is called 'J'adore'. You have to choose someone you admire and base a project around them. I originally wanted to do it on my nan or granddad but unfortunately they died when i was young so i don't have many memories of them. But second in line is a person i admire for so many reasons; Audrey Hepburn mainly because she was such a talented lady, not the mention her beauty. I am excited to research more and get to know her, and in the end i hope to produce a well detailed sketchbook and a eye catching final piece. I have a few ideas in mind on what i could do for my final piece, i have also decided to make this project a textiles based project so i'm going to have to dig out the sewing machine and get working! wish me luck!

Road to hell, with good intentions.

Its starts off the same every year, i make up a load of new year resolutions and claim that i am going to "turn a over a new leaf" but as you can imagine i stick to them for about a week and then it all goes out the window.
So now we've come into a new year... i decided that i quite liked the leaf i was on. As i've just turned eighteen i am legal to go out and get absolutely wasted (in which i do enjoy, and i do it quite regularly) I also have just started to like my job, and alls good at home.So i am quite enjoying how i am going on however... my friends don't feel the same way i do about the new Fara. In fact the all disagree strongly and all think i should change my ways. So as i sat there i decided what needed to change so here i am back to making new years resolutions...

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

FARA'S NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
  1. STOP BEING LATE
  2. HAND IN COLLEGE WORK ON TIME
  3. ACTUALLY GO TO THE GYM I PAY FOR (LOOSE WEIGHT)
  4. ONLY GO OUT ON THE WEEKENDS, WEEKDAYS ARE FOR COLLEGE WORK
  5. STOP BITING MY NAILS
  6. KEEP MY ROOM CLEAN
  7. STOP SPENDING MY MONEY ON SHIT
  8. STOP SWEARING

So theres the list i am going to try to stick by... Personally, looking at them i think its achievable but we'll soon see.
